ASHLEY GREENLEY

Ashley Greenley is a graduate student in the Ichthyology Lab at Moss Landing Marine Labs. For her M.S. thesis, Ashley is utilizing acoustic tracking technologies to investigate the movement patterns of lingcod (Ophiodon elongatus) in Carmel Bay, California. She is primarily interested in conducting research applicable to the development and assessment of marine protected areas. Ashley obtained a B.S. in Aquatic Biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and also spent a year abroad studying at the University of Western Australia. Before Moss Landing, Ashley worked in the North-Western Hawaiian Islands on a project to remove derelict fishing gear from coral reefs. At Moss Landing, Ashley has worked under the guidance of Rick Starr on a variety of projects ranging from submersible surveys to field collaborations with commercial and recreational fishers. In addition to her research activities, Ashley enjoys surfing, soccer, and an occasional game of ping-pong.
